These comparisons are becoming the most ridiculous thing ever. Before I get into why I have such a problem with everyone saying Zion is the next LeBron, I would like to say I am a Duke basketball fan. It brings me joy seeing Zion in a Blue Devils uniform throwing down ferocious dunks and catching alley-oops with his head over the fucking rim, it is truly amazing to watch.
With that being said, STOP FUCKING SAYING HE IS THE NEXT LEBRON. Zion has played THREE games in college. Yes he has performed up to his expectations in each game, but he has only played THREE games. I'm not going to sit here and say that he is nothing like LeBron. It is clear that his game resembles LeBron's, the athleticism and power that he uses attacking the rim is remarkable. But it is just disrespectful for people like Steve Kerr to say that he is the second coming of LeBron. Last night, LeBron passed Wilt Chamberlain to take the 5th spot in all-time scoring, it is obvious that LeBron will be a first ballot Hall of Famer. In my opinion, LeBron is the greatest basketball player to ever walk this earth, he has proven his greatness time and time again, 14 time all-star, bringing the 2007 Cleveland team to the finals, winning back to back titles in Miami in 2012 and 2013, finally bringing a championship to Cleveland in 2016, going to the finals 9 times, 8 of the 9 were consecutive. I know some of you are gonna say, "But Jared he is 3-6 in the finals, Jordan is 6-0!". You know what I have to say to that? FUCK YOU. Going to the finals 9 times is absurd by itself, but going 8 years in a row is just pure dominance and greatness over the rest of the league. He has been the best all around player in the league for probably the past 8 years, and still is today. He has won 4 MVP awards and 3 finals MVPs from each time he has won the championship, he was even in the conversation for finals MVP in 2015 when the Cavs lost to the Warriors, which he should have won MVP by the way and not fucking Igoudala. I could go on and on about all the accolades he has achieved throughout his career, but lets go back to Zion.
Don't get me wrong, I think Zion will have a successful career in the NBA. But to compare him to a player that is in the GOAT conversation when Zion is still in the early portion of his short college career in just blasphemous. Stephon Marbury said "Zion is way better than LeBron, it's not even close ... He don't have to touch a basketball and he's better than LeBron James. I said that." You know I have always liked Marbury and he had a short lived career in the NBA but is regarded as Jordan when it comes to Chinese Basketball. Stephon Marbury take your ass back to China for all I care. The only logical explanation for him saying this is that he was high as fuck at the time.
For everyone else, stop with the comparisons, it is just stupid. Save yourself from looking like a fucking idiot like Marbury and just show some damn respect to a player in LeBron who has proved he deserves it.
