The Steelers are Stupid

The Steelers are stupid. After an embarrassing Sunday Night Football loss to the Chargers at home, Pittsburgh sits at 7-4-1. At first glance that record seems fine but when you still have to play the Patriots and Saints that could be cause for concern. This is extremely disappointing considering many were calling Pittsburgh the best team in the AFC just two weeks ago. The Steelers will most likely make the playoffs and possibly win their division, but in the grand scheme of things they are on track for yet another underachieving season. The Steelers are too far behind the elite teams of the AFC and will have to play on the road for the majority of the postseason. Over the past several years in the NFL there's no team that has consistently underachieved with the immense amount of talent that Pittsburgh has. Some of this can be attributed to the fact that their franchise quarterback has been out of shape for the past five years and has a knack for turning the ball over in crucial situations. However, just about every other issue with the Steelers can be pointed at one thing, the ineptitude of Mike Tomlin. I believe Tomlin to be the most overrated head coach in football and I don't think the Steelers will ever sniff the Super Bowl again as long as he's there. We can start with his inability to handle the locker room. The man has no control of his players and it has been evident this year by many of his offensive linemen constantly referencing and talking about Le'Veon Bell. The quarterback also feels a constant need to call out wide receivers and other players, even though he continuously throws game altering interceptions. Tomlin has never been able to handle Antonio Brown between his sideline flare ups due to lack of targets, or Brown going on FaceBook Live in the middle of a speech after a game. All of that is only the off field stuff, the actual game stuff isn't much better either. Look no further than their latest game. In a crucial game Tomlin managed to blow a 23-7 lead at home in amazing fashion. The notoriously undisciplined Steelers jumped off sides three time on the last second field goal, making it impossible for the Chargers not to win. Mike Tomlin's career record against Tom Brady is 1-6 and many of the losses have been blowouts. Despite the lack of success versus the Patriots, Tomlin refuses to adjust how they play Brady and the Pats making it exceedingly easy for Tom and Bill to carve up the idiotic Steelers. Ben Roethlisberger doesn't have many years left at 36 years old and the Steelers would be wise to take advantage of their talented roster by firing Mike Tomlin.
